Cashiers must have great customer skills above all else. Applicants must be able to multi-task, handle payments, returns, answering phones, and assist the receiving of product. Duties include

  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Opening and closing the store
  • Taking payments and counting tills at the end of the day
  • Answering phones and directing to appropriate person
  • Greeting customers and helping as needed
  • Assisting with houseplant receiving and pricing merchandise

CHRISTMAS TREE LOT 

Our tree lot staff must have great customer service skills above all else. Applicants also must be able to unload, move and lift trees efficiently. The Tree Lot job is fun and physical and requires team work and follow-through. Duties include:

  • Unloading trees from deliveries.
  • Taking Inventory and tagging trees
  • Working with customers to pick out, purchase and load trees
  • Follow up on sales and deliveries
  • Maintaining a positive attitude under sometimes stressful conditions

NURSERY RECEIVER – Filled for 2022

The Nursery receiver must be able-bodied, energetic, organized and detail-oriented to receive plants and palletized goods. Duties include:

  • Unloading deliveries from trucks
  • Receiving, coding and pricing necessary plants and merchandise
  • Organizing empty racks, pallets and flats
  • Assisting customers loading cars
  • Assisting with assorted nursery duties
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Gardening knowledge helpful

    Full and part-time positions available

SOIL LOADER & NURSERY SUPPORT – Filled for 2022

This position requires someone able-bodied to assist customers with lifting heavy bags of soil, flats of plants, and large pottery into vehicles. Needed primarily weekends (High School students are welcome to apply). Duties include:  

  • Customer service including giving soil advice and writing tickets for payment
  • Assist nursery staff in watering 
  • Helping receive plants and placing in nursery
  • Offering assistance with lifting and moving items for customers

    Part-time only

NURSERY STAFF – Filled for 2022

Nursery staff provide customers with help picking out plants, diagnosing plant issues, choosing soils, and anything else garden related. Duties include:

  • Providing excellent customer service including plant advice 
  • Writing tickets for payment
  • Plant care: watering, cleaning
  • Helping receive plants and placing in nursery
  • Assisting customers with loading plants and soils into vehicles
  • Opening and closing the nursery

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE – Filled 

The Accounts Payable (A/P) position is part time (12-16 hours per week) and responsible for the full accounts payable cycle, which includes accurately processing a high volume of invoices and payments, handling complex issues within A/P and communicating with buyers and vendors. Other responsibilities include managing workflow within the A/P function, ensuring entry of all invoices, paying vendor purchases, properly filing and recording all invoices, and assembling and balancing daily deposits.

Applicants must have accounting experience and a thorough understanding of accounting concepts related to typical A/P process: accruals, prepaids, deferrals, balance sheets versus profit and loss, recording of expenses and sales, debit and credits, etc. You must have quick, accurate 10-key skills and be technically proficient. Duties include:

  • Processing invoices & payments
  • Resolving complex issues within Accounts Payable
  • Communicating with buyer and vendors
  • Assembling and balancing daily deposits
